Halloween update!

And now I've just looked at the blog, and realized that the last time I posted I promised I'd upload these - but then I never did! So here's a few shots from our fun-filled night! Lorne and Tash go crazy every year, taking off one of the risers in their front steps and grabbing ankles with werewolf hands, smoke machine and spooky music, skeletons rising from their garden, etc! Kea was such a sweetheart, she spent most of the evening handing out candy and kept reassuring everyone who was nervous. "Don't worry, it's just my mom under the stairs." "The skeleton is just a trick with a piece of string, it's not real", etc. And if they still couldn't get the nerve to come to her, she just came down the stairs to hand out the candy! We did take the kids trick-or-treating down the block and back, and Tiegan got right into it as soon as she figured it all out! Every time we left a house, she would pull out a piece of candy to show it to us in absolute wonderment! So sweet! When we got home, the kids all picked out their favourite 10 pieces of candy to eat whenever they wanted, and the rest they left in a pumpkin overnight for the pumpkin faerie - who, in exchange for enough sugar to fuel through 2 weeks of house demolitions, left a couple of toys behind!!!!!! Somehow, that junk is better in our systems than in theirs?!!!!

Anyways, the last post (before these three in a row!) was also when I was sick with a brutal cold, that I'm still recovering from though I'm feeling much better. And now everyone else is going through it, so it's been a rather exhausting couple of weeks full of vitamin C, steamy showers, garlic oil, and warm clothes!!!! But I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel - we will have a healthy household again!!!!!!!

House renovation photos.....

I've also added more photos to our house renovation stream, so thought I'd post them to the blog. Again, if you just click on this photo you can see other photos from the house. This is the south wall of our dining room - used to be a huge single-glazed aluminium window (held in by only three rusty screws!) and now it's french doors leading eventually to a deck, for now just looking decorative!!!! Enjoy the photos, I look forward to posting the finished product before too long (cross your fingers with us!!!!!)

and while we were gone.....

We had a gorgeous sunny day up on Grouse Mountain today, practicing some skating and getting the girls on skiis. After too many weeks of working really hard on the house, today was much needed. And the great thing about today was that it didn't mean progress was halted on the house - you see, we've discovered the great joy in HIRING OTHER PEOPLE TO DO THE WORK. Wow, what a concept! Especially when you have two young kids, a full-time job and otherwise busy life! There's only so much we can do!!!!!

So anyways, if you click on the photo of the house, you'll also see a bunch of photos of our fun day in the snow! As for the house, drywallers start on Mon, and we are no officially putting it all back together after having so much fun taking it all apart!!!!!!
