Yep, that's right, Jamie and the kids drove into Foymount over the weekend, and bought us a yurt - or rather, a ger as it is technically called in Mongolia! We'll be setting it up on our new piece of property over the winter, as a shelter to use while we ski and explore, and then this summer we'll live in it more permanently while we build our new house!

As for now, we're living in a little rented cottage by the lake in the Britannia area. It's a very cute house, I think we'll be very happy here for the next ten months - and would love to have visitors our way! Or at the very least, a little bit of mail!!! Let us know if you don't have our current address, and I'll happily send it along!

Our offer on a piece of land has been accepted!!!!!!!!! So now we wait for the deal to close in the middle of Sept., and then we start seriously dreaming and planning for the house we'd like to build!!!!! WOW! It's a beautiful piece of land, with lots of maples and rolling hills, patches of meadow and not a lot of wetness which is important for the lack of excessive bugs! It also backs onto another treed lot, so it seems much bigger than it is.

We'll officially be living in Lanark, but it is just under an hour's drive into Ottawa, 12 minutes into Almonte, about 30 minutes into Perth, and less than 2 kms from Middleville - all really neat communities that we're so excited to explore more!

I've just uploaded a tonne of photos from our whirlwind tour to NYC this past weekend, including lots of wandering the streets, finding playgrounds, visiting Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, braving the crowds at the Museum of Nature and a torture session/yoga class taught by Anja!!!!
