Photo updates of Ryland....

Here's a few photos of Ryland, displaying many of his different facial expressions. He's growing so fast, and is at the great age where he smiles in response to us, explores different sounds, is becoming more coordinated with his hands (ie no longer punches himself in the eye and then looks at us accusingly!) and is awake for longer chunks of the day. He is such a sweetheart, and really very easy going - he has definitely found a place in the family and the girls just adore him!!!! Of course, he's not taking any of their toys yet, or disrupting their games....we'll just enjoy this honeymoon period while it lasts!!!!

new pets....

The girls have been FOREVER nagging us to get a pet, and so far have not been convinced that their little brother is just as good as a pet, or that they have hundreds of pet worms in the backyard. So the other day they were gifted a couple of snails that our neighbours were trying to get out of their garden, and they proceeded to spend the rest of the day playing with their new pets, creating homes for them, naming them and taking photos of them - lots of fun! Now I'm just hoping I can keep them out of our gardens!!!!!

Hello again!

I am currently uploading a bunch of new photos onto flickr, so will share those once I'm done. In the meantime, I thought I would post a quick note to say that when I said 'accepting that I will get nothing done' in my previous post, by nothing I of course meant feeding, dressing and otherwise caring for three adorable kidlets!!! We have such great days if we're out and about, going to Science World, visiting friends, attending classes and just being together. It's those days when I have crazy notions like doing the dishes, sweeping the floor, working on the computer or any of the other daily maintaince type things that all goes awry and I'm left feeling frustrated. So during this very short infant time, I've just accepted that we'll just play all day, eat meals out of the freezer or slow cooker and on nights when I can sacrifice a bit of sleep I'll get some of the other stuff done! And just not invite people over to my house for a little bit :-)

It's the weekend, though, which means a whole other set of hands to hold Ryland (he used to be so much more to me!!!!!!!!), so I'm determined to catch up a little on all the lists I've been building in my head of things I want to get done - wish me luck!!!!

Life with three kidlets....

Life here is good - we're all well and happy and adjusting to life with Ryland. My days go really well as long as I accept that I'm not going to get anything done! Ryland is proving to be a very mellow addition to our family, but just by being an infant and therefore with a lot of needs he seems to have oozed his way into every possible bit of free time that I'd eeked out for myself before!!!!

And even now - Kea's at a sleepover, Jamie is upstairs putting Tiegan to bed and Ryland was asleep in the sling - so I thought I would settle in to catch up on blogs and emails and such. But the second I sat down, he woke up and now I've gotta go bounce! Maybe tomorrow?!!.....

Just wanted to let you know I've uploaded a few new photos onto our flickr account in case you wanted to check them out. We've had a few friends come visit us after a week away, and they've all exclaimed at how much Ryland had changed in that short time, so I thought I'd post a few photos for all of you who are having to watch him grow from a distance!!!

Originally uploaded by the four mckays.
Our friends have a Mac with some crazy camera programs - as you can well imagine, the kids are obsessive about taking and changing photos of themselves!!!! So of course, Jamie had to take a turn!!!

We're all well here, just busy busy busy! We had a wonderful weekend in Princeton for Grandad's 80th birthday party/Easter and now we're trying to get the house ready (ie so there's at least a path through the piles of stuff!!!) for the arrival of Jamie's dad and stepmom tomorrow. I'll try to update a bunch of photos from the weekend soon, and once I get more sleep and can form more than two sensical words in a row I'll write more! Until then - have a great day!!!!!!

This is just a small sampling of the clothing combinations Tiegan pulls off when I send her upstairs to get dressed in the morning. Apparently this outfit is called "Superman"!

Mom has been in town for a couple of days which has been REALLY nice - I'm going to go into shock next week when I only have two hands once again!

I keep thinking of all these things I want to blog about, but you'd be amazed at how little time I seem to have these days....and how even less of that time is with a free hand!!!!

We're off to Princeton this weekend for Grandad's 80th party - looking forward to seeing everyone there! More when we get back!
