Once again the weeks have passed and I realize that I haven't updated my blog at all - it's hard enough for me to function on a day to day basis these days, and in the chaos unfortunately this blog is neglected! However, I've just uploaded a whole bunch of photos to our flickr account so I thought I'd at least share those - and seeing as it is the 14th today, once Jamie gets home we'll take another photo of the growing belly!!!!
So first of all, we had a wonderful
week in Sooke, Vancouver Island where we stayed at a house with my mom and had visits by my brother Tyson, my sister Clare and her husband Alex, and then various friends dropped by to say hello! We really lucked out on sunny weather, though the fog would roll in and out at various times so it wasn't always hot. We spent every day exploring a different beach, and I was amazed by the variety in the landscapes and just how beautiful it is around there! We also visited a great little Meadery where we learned all about making mead and the kids fell in love with eating honey off of a stick!
Then we came back home in time to get ready to celebrate
Kea's 6th birthday! All week the weather had been dark and grey with off and on rain so we were a little concerned about our plans to have the party in Queen Elizabeth Park, but in the end the sun came out just in time, the skies were blue and it was a beautiful evening to be running around in the park!
And then the next morning we got up early in order to drive the hour out to Chilliwack in time to watch my cousins Darcy and Aimee compete in the barrel races, and then had a good visit with them. I don't think I've seen Darcy since before Tiegan was born, so it was great to get a chance to see her, and the kids were thrilled to see the horses and to have a chance to go riding a bit! We thought Tiegan would be far too nervous to even get close to the horse (as she always has been) but this time, she hopped up all by herself and kept asking Aimee to go FASTER FASTER!!!! Such a change! We also spent time checking out all the different animals, the rides, the old machinery, and eating over-priced, fried food - all in all a great day!!!!!!
Here's a few photos that Jamie and I took of the day, and then
Kea's view of the day! She got a new-to-her camera for her birthday, and it's been very interesting to see her photos!!!!!! Hope you enjoy, and I'll try to be a bit more regular with my posting!!!!
